Peppermint Body Scrub!

What reminds you of Christmastime? For me, a lot of Christmas memories are tied to certain scents of this sentimental season. For example, warm sugar cookies baking in the oven complementing the remnants of snow dissolving on my windowsill. Or the crisp scent of frosted evergreens silhouetting snow-covered mountains. Even the simplistic sweet fragrance of peppermint always seems to catch my attention just in time for winter. Try the budget-friendly peppermint body scrub recipe below that is sure to get your senses savoring the season. 

 

 Some of the benefits of peppermint include stress relief, improved blood circulation and improved disposition.

Peppermint Body Scrub:

  1. 1 to 1-1/2 cups of natural cane sugar or brown sugar (for a sweeter smell).
  2. 1/2 cup to 1 cup Jojoba oil, Sweet Almond oil, Grapeseed oil or Safflower oil.
  3. 5-12 drops (to your preference) of Peppermint Essential oil.
  4. 1 jar that seals.

You should be able to find all of the ingredients above at any natural food store.

Directions:
Add just enough oil so the sugar mixture is slushy – not too oily but not too dry. You can always add more oil as needed. When your scrub sits motionless, it is typical for the sugar and oil to separate; just mix with your fingers before use. Gently smooth over rough feet, heels, knees and elbows to reveal soft, silky skin! Use up to two times per week.

Caution:
Do not use on your face or after shaving. Always try unfamiliar products on a small patch of skin to ensure that it will not irritate your skin. Do not use peppermint oil if you are pregnant.
